In today’s tutorial, I will show you few techniques and available methods within canva to create shadow effects.
Let’s start with the Free version.
How to create shadow effects in Canva using the free version?
Two methods can help you to create shadows for your designs. Below are the simple steps for your reference. I have also shared a video on my channel for your quick understanding.
For Images:
Step 1 – Select any image, remove the background using remove.bg because the background removal option is available for canva Pro users only. Make a copy of your image with the removed background.
Step 2 – Adjust the copied image with the below-shared adjustments.
Step 3 – Reduce the transparency of this blur image as per your need.
Step 4 – Move this image background and adjust it right or left.
Important Point- Always make sure your shadow must be in opposite direction to the light source. For example, if the light source in your design is from the right then your shadow must be in the left direction.
For Elements:
The last three steps are the same for elements but in the first step, you just need to download your element in PNG format with transparent background and then upload it again before applying the above-shared adjustments and steps.
