I have been using the canva screen recording feature for a long and mainly use it to record Canva design tutorials for my Youtube channel, also recorded and published one Udemy course with the help of the canva free screen recorder.
How To Use Canva For Screen Recording ?
In this tutorial, I will share the steps to record a screen in canva, which is the best tool for the following reasons.
- Canva screen recording features are free for everyone. No need to buy a canva Pro subscription.
- Easy to use with no or little tech knowledge required.
- Very easy to edit videos immediately after screen recording by staying within canva. It is my favorite part after recording any tutorial through a canva screen recorder which helps to perform many tasks under one umbrella and save precious time.
Below are steps to record the screen in canva.
Step 1 – Create an account with Canva and log in to proceed further. Click on the Video as shown below the image. You can select any other format or size as required. “Video” is the best file size for screen recording.
Step 2 – In the next step, You will see the below screen in canva, click on the button “Record Yourself”.
Step 3 – Canva recording platform will appear after you press the button mentioned above. It will give you three options for recording.
Camera – With this option, You can record yourself through your laptop video cam.
Camera & Screen – With this option, You can record yourself along with the screen. This option is suitable when you want yourself on the screen while giving any lecture or presenting to your audience with your face. Canva offers you to add notes while recording. You can also apply filters or change the direction of your face in a specific shape with a few clicks. See the below images for your easy understanding.
Screen– This is the option you need to use if you need to record your screen only. Once you will press the button “Screen”, another window will appear with three options. You can record the whole screen, window, or any specific chrome tab only. After selecting your desired option, press the “share” button.
Step 4 – If you don’t want your face to appear while recording as well as do not want any external sound then apply “No camera” and “No microphone” as shown in the below images.
You will also see the small tab or button at the bottom. If you want to stop recording, press on “stop sharing”. Your recording will stop without any backup. You can also hide this button while recording otherwise this will keep appearing on your screen during recording.
Step 5 – Press the “Record” button. Your screen recording will start. Once you will complete your recording, press the button “Done” and then “Save and Exit”. Your recording will be saved automatically in the Uploads. See the below images for your understanding.
Step 6 – Now you can start editing your video in Canva. Remove unwanted parts in your video by using the split or crop video option. You can also add Music from canva’s library to your video or import it from an external source.
